It is important to examine your foundation at least once a year. Look for signs of cracked foundations, chipped and flaking concrete or mortar. Examine for mud shelter tubes on the foundation wall made by termites. Check to see if you have proper drainage away from the foundation. In times of drought check to see if the soil has pulled away from the foundation. Also look for pressure on interior water lines. Another telltale sign is of a fuse panel pulling away from the wall. Any one of these conditions can cause damage to your foundation and subsequently to the structure of the home or building. Don't wait, the cost of repairs continually rises, and if the repairs are postponed there is an increased chance of more extensive damage occurring to the structure.
